Behind the Scenes: Logo Design

Behind the Scenes: Logo Design

We love working with businesses to create their brand or rebrand themselves. Many times we are helping small businesses figure out their identity. This process is always an adventure and can be extremely involved.

Your logo is something your company is identified by and should clearly represent who you are and what you do. A clean, appropriate logo is invaluable to a company. Think of the major brands that you instantly recognize… got a few in mind? How about McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, FedEx, Starbucks, Gap? All of these logos are simple, clean, and easily recognizable. Chances are, as you read them you saw their logo in your head. We work to create a logo that is clean, clear, and will grow with the business while looking good on a billboard, business card, and website.

Typically, we start a logo consultation by speaking with the business owner and hearing their story and why they selected their business name. From there we will jot down a few ideas and make them digital using Adobe Illustrator. Here is where the concepts we had swirling in our head during our initial discussion start to come to life.

We like to present a few ideas to the client, typically between 3-6 drafts. These rough drafts help us figure out which direction to head in. From fonts to images, each decision helps shape what will end up as their final logo.

After rough drafts, we will work on cleaning up and tweaking one image until it fits the company perfectly.

I look forward to seeing this logo all over Franklin in the upcoming months as the new store opens.
